The Batman | Halloween Square

Happy Halloween!

I thought it was an opportune time to share some more work from The Batman. I believe it was conveyed that The Batman had inspirational connections to ‘The Long Halloween’, which is an incredible Batman story (I also strongly recommend the WB Animation Studios 2-part animation of the story too, which really blew me away).

One of the ideas I was involved with concepting, was a Halloween festival/party centred around Gotham’s version of Times Square, or Piccadilly Circus.

A really fun set of ideas I explored, were giant mannequins often seen in parades. I had some great inspiration references from James Chinlund of some very unusual, macabre and nightmarish sculptures which infused our Halloween street party with real artistic quality to it.

This was an early concept of the party where the aim was to capture the tone and mood of the event. I liked the idea of people wearing more Venetian masked ball type costumes, again trying to keep with James’ artistic vision of the scene.

Thanks, hope you enjoyed. And Happy (Long) Halloween!
